Who doesn’t love a good deal? From Christmas shopping to getting the weekly groceries, there’s never a time when families want to pass on a bargain. The same can be said when it comes to finding the right summer camp. Why should you have to pay for a camp you don’t think is worth the asking price? There are probably dozens of summer music camps out there you could be looking at, so finally pulling the trigger on that decision is unique for each family. With that in mind, here are eight reasons why we believe Camp Electric is an absolute bargain.
Cheap Summer Camps Can Be Hard to Find
Sticker shock is a real thing. You may be looking at all of the different benefits to a product and your friends may have glowing reviews, but some prices will make your mouth drop open. Summer camps can have that effect, too. If you’re looking for music camps, you’ve probably already done this once. The truth is that childcare isn’t cheap (parents already know this). Add in fun activities, exclusive opportunities, etc. and you’re looking at a cost you may not be willing to pay. “Cheap” is a relative term of course, but let’s draw a line at $500. Many times a church camp will be right in this ballpark, while something offered by the local YMCA may be cheaper. If you’re looking for a summer music camp lasting more than two or three days, though, good luck finding something fitting this definition of “cheap.”
Special Discounts and Incentives
If you do have a mind for discounts, then you will certainly be interested in the many special rates provided at Camp Electric. We know it can be difficult for some people to send a child to camp. That’s why we want to incentivize those who are sitting on the fence with early bird rates, sibling discounts, and more. By following Camp Electric on social media or checking in regularly on our website, you will be in-the-know when it comes to different promotions and discounts. While these specials can change month-to-month or each year, we can safely tell you that signing up early definitely has its perks. The full price of Camp Electric is already competitively figured for similar camps, but these deals make the choice that much easier.
Music Camps Often Cost Thousands of Dollars
To understand why Camp Electric is an absolute bargain, you first need to know how much many of today’s summer music camps cost. To study classical music at some of the nation’s top programs (or to send your child), you could easily pay $10,000. Of course, these programs are quite competitive and may not be what you’re looking for, but that’s roughly the ceiling. If $10,000 gets you into the A+ programs, know that the B options still carry a price tag in the thousands of dollars. There are many music programs out there, but very few list a price with less than four figures. If you choose the most expensive options for Camp Electric and somehow miss all of the discounts, you still wouldn’t hit $1000/student.
Our Instructors are Real Musicians from Major Bands
One of the biggest selling points for Camp Electric has to be our instructors. Coming from bands like Casting Crowns, Rend Collective, Hollyn, Citizen Way, Mandisa, 7eventh Time Down, TobyMac, and more, these talented professionals are a step up from that third cousin of yours who teaches piano on the side. When you consider how difficult it can be to work out schedules and acquire these teachers, the asking price at Camp Electric is quite affordable. It’s not just about impressing you with names, these musicians know what it takes to make it in the industry.
No Musty, Old Cabins
When you think about some of the cheaper camp options out there, they likely feature camping in tents or in musty, old cabins where you feel insecure shutting your eyes lest a man-eating spider takes you out in the middle of the night. At Camp Electric, students can sleep soundly in the wonderful facilities of Trevecca Nazarene University. We love camping as much as the next guy, but there’s a time and place for all of that. Not only are college facilities a great preview for young minds, we think it leads to a better music education experience overall.
Concerts Throughout the Week
Remember those talented professional musicians we alluded to earlier? Yeah, they aren’t just relegated to the classroom. Each night our students get a private concert featuring some of the biggest acts in Christian music as well as some of the up-and-coming talent we love. These concerts (and their exclusivity) would normally be worth $20-50 each, so when you start counting them up it’s a nice perk to the camp experience. Not only do we want students to learn about music, it should be a fun experience too!
You’ll Actually Learn Something at Camp Electric
Someone once said “You can’t put a price on a good education.” We value the learning experience at Camp Electric also. That’s why we want to make sure our students leave camp with a better understanding of who they are as musicians and feel empowered to continue the journey when they get home. One way to measure a summer music camp is by how enjoyable the week is, but we can’t forget how important the learning process can be as well. This is a unique opportunity to learn which young musicians cannot duplicate.
Christian Environment + Music-Minded People
The curriculum isn't the only key to the music education. Part of the experience at Camp Electric is bringing together music-minded, creative people who want to thrive in a Christian environment and learn in a faith community. There’s nothing wrong with playing in a secular group or hanging out with people who believe differently from you, but an environment where you know everyone is on the same page can be a great place to learn and grow.
For those eight reasons, and perhaps many more, we believe Camp Electric is an absolute bargain for young musicians and/or their families. We would love for you to join us next summer as we all take part in the coolest summer camp for Christian musicians. Find out how you can be our next student by clicking on the link below.
